Finally, You can be smoke free!

I’ve just done it, I’ve quit smoking, and I’ll tell you exactly how I did it, and I really hope you’ll read the information on this site.

All the information, and links to audio and electronic versions of real books are free for you, I am not out to make cash from anyone, I am merely an ex-smoker who wants to help people quit.

More about Me

I was a heavy smoker, at times 2 packs a day, and to me smoking a pack a day was a little. I would drink a coffee in the morning and have 4 smokes with that cup of coffee before heading out the door to work. On the way to work I would smoke another 1, then immediately after arriving at work I would smoke yet another cig.

Through out the day I would smoke at least 1 an hour, but usually 1 every 45 minutes before heading out of the office and into the freedom of a “smoke zone”, where I would smoke perhaps every 20-40 minutes.

This routine carried on and on, but I knew I needed to quit eventually, the problem was that day I wanted to quit, just wasn’t today! That day seemed to never be today, as a matter of fact, it was always next week, next month, this coming Friday… next Friday etc.

I will be really frank with you in this Blog, I’ll let you know my personal experience in a few quit methods, tell you which are a waste of your time and which will work.

If you are a smoker now, don’t start getting all guilty or try quit without the correct knowledge, carry on smoking till you read and understand all the information on this Blog.

Months later and still cravings to smoke?

I’m writing this article for those of you, who have been smoke free for a few months and are still getting cravings to smoke. I want to expose the reasons why you are receiving these cravings, as they say “Know your enemy”.

You might have heard of the Myth – “Once a smoker, always a smoker”, or how about the urban legend that we’ve all heard about someones uncle who stopped smoking 20 years ago and still has strong cravings for a cigarrette. If you’ve quit, and are still getting these cravings months later, You might be wondering if you’ll ever be completely free of the dangers of smoking.

These cravings can actually be useful because if you’re experiencing these cravings, congratulations, you now have personally verifyable evidence that 90% of the smoking problem is mental, because your body does not crave Nicotine months after you’ve quit. Armed with this knowledge we can easily see why people return to smoking, if it was a physical addication it would be easier to kick, but because it is a mental one, we need to deal with the problem in a more direct way. Frankly, we need to challenge our own thinking.

Don’t be a pussy about smoking, remember it was hard enough to stop. Don’t forget all about those times you felt so depressed while you smoked, just wishing for a gap to escape from the filthy habit. Never forget waking up in the morning feeling like you were hit by a bus. Some mornings I nearly vomited in the shower, because my body felt so poluted. Its just a disgusting habit.

It took a remarkable effort for you to stop, and this effort is proof that you do care about yourself, your mental heath and your body. You took a huge leap out of the sess pool of smoking, and into this new clean world. This is not to say that this new life without smoking is perfect (far from it), its still business as usual, life will always be challenging and imperfect, but it’s a lot easier if you choose to tackle life without the hinderance of excess alcohol, drugs or cigarrettes, none of these products will benefit you in the long term.

As you can see stopping smoking is more than just extinguishing the fag, but also becoming more intune with yourself and your own personal success. If you’re going to stay off the smokes, your very thought processes need to change and be tuned. You need to release your inner power. The bible has a good quote for this subject – “Be angry, but do not sin”. Remember that song by Twisted Sister – “We aint going to take it”, You have to get angry with this old loser mentality, expell it and get active in your new life without filthy weed.

Luckily you are a winner, so kick smoking in the balls and get on with it!

Stay quit smoking

If you’ve successfully quit, thats excellent news, just ensure you don’t go back to the weed.

Don’t get bored and think I’ll just have one smoke, remember before you stopped, you would have done anything to be free of smoking, now that you are, you might need to remind yourself every now and again just how harmful smoking can be.

1 or 2 smokes might not sound like a bad thing, but it will never end there, soon you’ll get a nag for another smoke, and another after that and so the cycle continues.

As a non smoker I can say for the most part, its perfect, but every now and again, you do get the urge to smoke, the important thing is don’t flirt with these thoughts, its not worth it.

Some people tell me, they started smoking again from boredom. Boredom is a state of mind, and smoking won’t help with your boredom. Doing something constructive will give you relief from boredom.

Does smoking ruin your memory?

While smoking a cigarette may make you feel momentarily energized, smoking can actually lower the amount of oxygen that reaches your brain, thereby affecting your memory. In fact, studies have found that smokers score lower on memory tests than nonsmokers, and smokers who average more than a pack a day appear to have an especially hard time recalling names and faces. Some research suggests that smoking can slow your memory performance about as much as having a couple of drinks. Smoking a pack a day exposes you to 1,000 micrograms of toluene (among other things), which is highly toxic and can cause confusion and memory loss.

I’ve been trying to find out if these affects are permanent or if not how long your brain needs to recover from heavy smoking. You’re welcome to add insight by leaving a comment.

Another great way to quit smoking!

This is perhaps the laziest way to quit smoking, but guess what it works!

You might have heard of Zyban, well this post is not about Zyban but for those of you who don’t know the drug, Zyban is an anti-depressant that has a side affect of causing you to want to smoke less. Zyban was never designed for quitting smoking and had some nasty side effects, personally I would not recommend it, but Zyban can work for some people.

Welcome Varenicline, which might be called Champix in your country. This is medication designed for one purpose only, to help you quit smoking easily. Its been engineered for this purpose, and yes it really does work, its about 60% more effective than Zyban.

To use it, you’re going to need a prescription from your Doctor, who will explain the pros and cons of taking it, I guess its not for everyone, especially not for pregnant woman.

Well I will tell you my experience with Champix.

You take it for a week, and continue to smoke while on it, You set a quit date, and quit on that date. I.E: You go cold turkey – throw away all your smokes, lighters, ashtrays and everything. Except there is one catch, one pleasant suprise - Varenicline/Champix works so well, that you don’t experience those nerve wreaking cravings, instead you feel almost completely normal, and not in need of a smoke. Now I am not kidding about this, it really works.

Varenicline/Champix does come with some side effects, and these side effects might not always be pleasant, but the way I see it dying of lung cancer at 40 seems far worse a deal.

In my experience these are the side effects I felt, these are all documented in the side effects section of the medication.

1. The one thing that I noticed is that I started dreaming vivid and lucid dreams, for the first week the dreams were really not pleasant, but during the second and following weeks, the dreams became normal but still vivid.

2. Passing Gas I see is mentioned, and this is true, basically you fart a bit more, but usually in the mornings and for the rest of the day its quite ok. Its really not like you turn into a fart machine.

3. unusual tiredness or weakness sometimes, but so far this is not effecting with my work, or my ability to wake up for work in the early morning.

4.  Nausea, this one is very real, and sometimes you feel slightly sea sick, still let me remind you, how good you’ll feel once you quit smoking, this drug is giving you freedom from your Nicotine addication, some nausea is part of the package.

5. Aware of your own heart beat sometimes, this might be funny if it wasn’t just a little disturbing, but it doesn’t last long, and certainly doesn’t feel uncomfortable.

Remember Champix is a ticket to quitting smoking, the side effects will pass once you stop taking the Champix. They recommend you take it for 3-4 months.

The very best way to quit smoking

Again straight to the point, if you haven’t read the book – “The only way to quit smoking” Allen Carr, then its about time you read this book.

Take my word for it – My first encounter with this book left me a non smoker for 1 year, I was so impressed from quitting, I gave the book to  2 family members who both quit from reading the book. I then gave it to a friend, who’s daughter read it, and quit within a week.

Clearly the book works, and its the number 1 method for quitting smoking, but there are some risks with the book.

The first risk is that a smoker doesn’t have any faith in the ability of a book to get him/her off smoking. Because of this most smokers don’t ever get around to reading the book. Years later out of desperation they might read the book, then can’t understand the mental barrier they had before.

I’ve also recommended the book to people who almost felt insulted that I would waste their time with “a book”, perhaps its a pride thing, but it still annoys the crap out of me, that most people won’t even give the book a chance, because I can tell you, the book bloody well does work, and not from tricks or brain washing, remember – “if the truth can be explained in a way it is understood, it is said to be believed” and this is what the book does!

I know the book might be out of the price range for some of you, so I have included a direct e-book link to the book (this is then free for you to download). http://rapidshare.com/files/35912983/Allen_Carr_-_The_Easy_Way_to_Stop_Smoking_allbestbooks.com.rar

Nicotine replacement treatments do not work!

Get this into your head right now!

Nicotine replacement treatments will never help you quit smoking, don’t waste your hard earned money or time on these methods.

In this blog – I intend to get straight to the point and not hold out on you important and factual information.

Let me tell you a true story. I work with smokers, actually I used to smoke with them until I quit the filthy habit. One smoker who is still my friend expressed some interest in my method for quiting, I told him exactly how I had managed to stop, and asked him if he would like to try to quit. His reply was “No, the last time I tried to quit it was a disaster”, Now I heard from other smokers, this chap had tried to quit using the patch, he had succeeded for about one week. The poor guy didn’t stand a chance because I’ll tell you right now, the God honest truth is that Nicotine replacement treatments are a very bad idea, and not only I feel this way, but a great deal of health experts, and also Allen Carr, the leading name in how to quit Smoking, Allen Carr’s methods have really helped more people than any other technique out there.

Let me make one last final point, if someone has a Heroine addication, its unlikely the doctor will prescribe more Heroine to the victim to get him/her off the addication. No doctor in the world would be so silly. Think about that Alcoholic, do you think they sit around and suck Alcohol sweets at AA meetings?

The reality is that Nicotine replacement treatments should theoretically always keep you addicted to the drug Nicotine, because sadly you are not addicted to smoking, but to Nicotine.

If you have any doubts about this, ask around, talk to smokers (who are still smoking), talk to ex smokers. Find out how these people really quit, find out who is failing to quit, and find out what methods they were using.
